Job Description
As the SEO Content Manager, you will play a key role in producing and managing high-quality SEO content for RBC Insurance. Working alongside our SEO lead, you will write and edit content yourself and manage a roster of freelance writers. This role is ideal for a skilled writer and editor who is passionate about content, comfortable with SEO best practices, and experienced in managing creative talent.
What will you do?
Write, edit, and publish SEO-optimized content for RBC Insurance, ensuring every piece meets quality and brand standards.
Manage a roster of freelance writers, providing briefs, editorial feedback, and ongoing guidance to maintain consistent content quality.
Build and maintain a content calendar to ensure a steady, well-planned flow of content aligned with business priorities.
Apply on-page SEO best practices across all content, including meta titles, descriptions, headers, and internal linking.
Use WordPress to publish and manage content, making updates as needed to support performance goals.
Track and report on content performance metrics, using insights to inform ongoing improvements.
Collaborate with the SEO lead, marketing, and product teams to ensure content supports broader business objectives.
Conduct content audits and implement updates to improve site health and search visibility.
Stay current with SEO trends, algorithm updates, and content best practices.
What Do You Need to Succeed ?
Must-have
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, English, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in content creation and SEO, with a proven track record of driving organic growth.
Strong experience with WordPress, including content publishing, editing, and basic HTML/CSS knowledge.
Hands-on experience using AI tools to improve content workflows and team efficiency.
Proficiency in SEO and analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Amplitude, Google Search Console, SEMrush, and Ahrefs.
Excellent communication and project management skills, capable of working cross-functionally with various teams.
Ability to create SEO content briefs and provide editorial guidance to ensure content meets quality and SEO standards.
Strong analytical skills to interpret SEO data and make informed decisions for content optimization.
Strong copywriting skills to craft compelling and engaging content that aligns with brand voice and objectives.
Nice-to-have
Experience in Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) marketing.
Familiarity with technical SEO concepts and the ability to collaborate with developers to implement changes.
Previous experience managing content strategies for financial or insurance-related websites.
Knowledge of conversion rate optimization (CRO) and experience with A/B testing to improve content performance.
Experience with backlink building strategies and developing outreach plans to secure high-quality links.

Pay Range
The expected pay range for this position is:
$67,000.00 - $110,000.00The pay range provided is for the primary work location referenced in the Additional Job Details section of this job posting. Pay ranges may differ based on location.
