JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The Mail/Copy Center Worker is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to mail handling and document reproduction services. Duties include receiving, sorting, processing, and delivering mail and packages; operating mail and printing equipment; performing routine maintenance; driving mail routes; assisting customers with related services.
Receive, sort, scan, package, and deliver incoming and outgoing mail and parcels.
Operate and maintain mail processing equipment including postage meters, barcode scanners, shrink wrap machines, and folding/inserting machines.
Determine postage charges, apply postage and labels, and assist with billing and tracking systems.
Drive mail routes across campus and to external mail services (e.g., USPS), adhering to delivery schedules.
Maintain cleanliness and report maintenance needs for assigned vehicles.
Operate copiers, printers, and finishing equipment (e.g., collators, laminators, cutters, binders).
Perform routine maintenance on printing and mailing equipment, troubleshoot errors, and escalate issues when needed.
Prepare print jobs: assemble, proof, bind, package, and label finished products.
Ensure security of sensitive and confidential materials throughout processing and delivery.
Provide customer service related to mail and copy services, including job cost estimates and accepting payments or billing information.
Maintain records of production volumes and supply usage; monitor inventory and request restocks as needed.
May be responsible for opening, closing, and securing mail or copy center facilities.
May require the ability to work in an outdoor environment in adverse weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.
BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES
Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
