Role Overview
The Manager, Product Marketing & Platforms will drive the adoption of Mastercard's priority growth platforms by translating product capabilities into compelling go-to-market strategies and integrated marketing programs.
This role plays a critical role in connecting business priorities, customer needs, and consumer insights to deliver measurable growth outcomes. The Manager will lead the development and execution of marketing programs across key growth areas including Affluent, High Value Consumers, Cross-Border (XB), ESG, and other strategic Mastercard solutions.
Working closely with Product, Services, Customer Marketing, Brand, Communications, Sales, and agency partners, the role will transform product propositions into scalable, customer-relevant marketing programs that strengthen consumer engagement, drive usage, and accelerate business growth.
The ideal candidate combines strategic marketing expertise, strong analytical capabilities, partnership development experience, and hands-on execution excellence to operate effectively in a fast-paced and highly matrixed environment.
Key Objectives
• Drive adoption and usage of Mastercard's priority growth platforms and product solutions in Japan
• Translate product capabilities and business priorities into compelling consumer and customer marketing programs
• Develop scalable go-to-market frameworks that can be leveraged across issuers, partners, and Mastercard channels
• Deliver integrated marketing execution that drives measurable business outcomes and customer value
• Strengthen Mastercard's leadership position across High value programs (Affluent, XB), emerging growth opportunities, and ESG.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Marketing & Go-to-Market Strategy
• Lead marketing strategy development for priority growth platforms, products, and solutions
• Translate complex product capabilities into compelling value propositions and customer-centric narratives
• Develop go-to-market plans that align business objectives, customer priorities, and consumer insights
• Partner with Product and Services teams to identify growth opportunities and commercialization strategies
2. Growth Platform Development
• Own marketing support for strategic growth areas including Affluent, High-Value Consumer, Cross-Border (XB), ESG, and other emerging business priorities
• Build scalable marketing frameworks that enable adoption across issuer and partner ecosystems
• Identify opportunities to leverage Mastercard assets, benefits, and partnerships to drive product engagement
• Continuously assess market trends, competitive activity, and consumer behavior to inform platform strategy
3. Integrated Marketing Execution
• Lead end-to-end development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns across owned, earned, and paid channels
• Develop customer-facing marketing toolkits, campaign frameworks, and activation plans
• Ensure alignment across Brand, Communications, Customer Marketing, Product, and agency partners
• Drive execution excellence while managing multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously
4. Customer & Partner Engagement
• Partner with issuers and strategic stakeholders to bring product platforms to market effectively
• Support co-marketing opportunities that strengthen customer value propositions and business growth
• Build strong relationships across internal and external stakeholders to accelerate execution and adoption
• Act as a marketing advisor to help customers leverage Mastercard capabilities and platform assets
5. Analytics, Measurement & Optimization
• Use data, insights, and performance metrics to guide decision-making and optimize marketing investments
• Develop measurement frameworks to assess platform adoption, engagement, and business impact
• Translate performance insights into recommendations and future growth opportunities
• Support business case development, ROI analysis, and executive reporting
6. Stakeholder & Agency Management
• Collaborate across local, regional, and global teams to ensure alignment and scalability
• Manage agency partners through briefing, planning, execution, and performance evaluation
• Influence stakeholders without direct authority to drive cross-functional alignment and results
• Ensure strong governance, operational excellence, and consistent reporting across programs
What We're Looking For
• Minimum 10 years of experience in product marketing, growth marketing, strategic marketing, customer marketing, or related disciplines
• Proven track record of developing and executing successful go-to-market strategies and integrated marketing programs
• Strong strategic thinking with the ability to connect business priorities, consumer insights, and commercial outcomes
• Experience working across financial services, payments, technology, loyalty, premium consumer, travel, lifestyle, or related sectors preferred
• Strong analytical and data-driven mindset with ability to translate insights into actionable strategies
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated partnership development and stakeholder management experience across internal and external organizations
• Strong commercial acumen and understanding of how marketing supports customer acquisition, engagement, and usage growth
• Ability to operate independently while influencing across a highly matrixed organization
• Hands-on, execution-oriented approach with strong attention to detail and accountability for results
• Proven experience managing agency partners and external vendors
• Native Japanese and fluent English (written and spoken) are required
