Who You Are:

The Junior Copywriter is an integral part of the editorial team responsible for writing compelling, brand-appropriate copy across a range of platforms. In this role, you’ll write romance copy for the Michael Kors, Michael Kors Outlet, and Michael Kors Collection website and marketing emails that inspire and educate the customer, communicating the inspiration behind the product and the season. This writer will also play a key role in supporting business needs and reinforcing the brand vision through promotional emails, site banners, in-store signage and other ad-hoc customer communications. The right candidate will bring an attention to detail to ensure copy alignment across all channels, including site, email and social. Must be able to reinforce luxury brand voice through tone, style, story and content. Requires partnership with Marketing, Ecomm, Fashion, Creative, PR, Legal and Social teams to ensure strategic, consistent on-brand storytelling. This role will report into the team’s Copywriter, whom they will collaborate with closely.

What You'll Do:

  • Maintain the Michael Kors voice while writing for all mediums: MichaelKors.com, Michael Kors Outlet, marketing emails, CRM and promotions
  • Write and edit romance copy on landing pages, site banners, and content in shopping grids
  • Assist with Michael Kors Outlet copy strategy and execution for email, site and retail initiatives
  • Streamline strategy and write copy for sales and other promotional events across site, email, digital and retail assets
  • Write engaging subject lines, headlines and sub-copy for marketing emails
  • Engage KORSVIP loyalty program members with eye-catching copy on targeted communications
  • Work with Project Management and Art team to ensure deadlines are met and edits are executed for final approval
  • Work with global marketing teams to create evites, signage and other collateral for retail events and other ad-hoc projects
  • Collaborate with PR and Art Departments to concept and write copy for special projects
  • Contribute to Michael’s World blog as needed
  • Own process of assigned projects from briefing to QA testing
  • Work closely with the Copywriter and Editorial Director to execute editorial content and sophisticated creative solutions to translate Merchandising and Marketing initiatives
  • Work closely with the Ecomm and Site teams on messaging and copy execution across platforms for each season
  • Develop strong working relationships with the Art and Fashion departments as well as the Project Management team
  • Stay abreast of other brand’s copywriting trends and be plugged into what’s happening culturally to write more relevant, engaging copy

You'll Need to Have:

  • 1-3 years of fashion copywriting or editorial writing experience
  • Ability to adapt to and write using different brand tones for varying product tiers simultaneously
  • In-depth knowledge of and passion for fashion trends
  • Highly organized with an ability to manage multiple projects and readjust priorities in order to meet deadlines
  • Ability to identify solutions and resolve issues
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure and be agile to changing business needs
  • Ability to work on Mac and use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Wrike, etc.
  • Excellent proofreading skills, attention to detail, and time management
  • Be a team player with a positive attitude, who is energized by challenges and excited to partner with colleagues across the creative team
