GENERAL PURPOSE
The Editorial Lead for MillerKnoll will lead the development and activation of the enterprise’s global brand voice. This role sets editorial direction, guides a team of writers, and delivers ambitious, high-quality storytelling across the business. Working across functions, this leader aligns editorial strategy with business priorities, clearly and consistently articulates brand values, and ensures that content will connect with internal and external audiences.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Define and protect the company’s brand voice and stylistic guidelines, translating strategy into clear, compelling storytelling across all channels.
Partner with brand, design, digital, product, and content marketing teams to develop and deliver integrated, multi-channel content strategies that support brand and business goals.
Lead a high-performing editorial group within the larger MillerKnoll brand creative team, setting direction, coaching performance, and ensuring quality and consistency across deliverables.
Recruit, mentor, and manage in-house editors, writers, and a robust network of freelance contributors.
Partner with design leaders within the brand creative team, and across the business in environments and product teams, to craft best-in-class holistic creative.
Serve as a subject matter expert in writing and messaging, advising stakeholders and contributing as a senior-level writer when needed.
Plan and execute multi-format editorial calendars (articles, newsletters, video, podcasts) that build brand authority rather than just driving direct-response marketing.
Explore and apply emerging tools and technologies to improve content creation, distribution, and measurement, including responsible use of AI to support consistency at scale.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
8+ years of experience in digital media, publishing, journalism, or culture-forward, content-rich brands.
3+ years of people leadership experience.
Skills and abilities:
Experience developing and executing content strategies across channel, with ability to inform how we develop and embody brand voice with B2B and B2C audiences.
Portfolio that demonstrates editorial ambition—not just execution—across digital, social, and long-form content.
Strategic point-of-view on how to achieve business goals through dynamic editorial content.
Collaborative work style with ability to forge strong partnerships across the organization, aligning editorial work with cross-functional priorities.
Flair for developing talent, building team culture, and managing freelance contributors at scale.
Comfort using AI and other tools to support content development and workflow efficiency.
Working knowledge of social, digital, and emerging communication platforms.
Familiarity with creative production and project management workflows, for example: Figma, InDesign, Adobe Acrobat, Wrike.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to travel domestically or internationally up to 10%.
Ability to work from the MillerKnoll office in New York, NY (no relocation provided).
Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
