Program Overview
The AN/SQQ-89A(V)15 program supports the U.S. Navy by upgrading sonar systems aboard ships. The work includes removing legacy sonar systems, installing the updated AN/SQQ-89A(V)15 system, training sailors on system operation and maintenance, and performing quality checks. Position Overview
The primary function of this position is to support the development of AN/SQQ-89A(V)15 system operational and maintenance Integrated Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) for U.S. Navy ships in support of Program Executive Office Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS 5B).
Primary Responsibilities
Work closely with Logisticians and other Technical Writers as the AN/SQQ-89A(V)15 subject matter expert (SME) to support the creation of technical documentation.
Provide subject matter expertise in the development of technical content and templates.
Describe complex technical topics in a clear, concise, and accurate manner.
Lead documentation reviews as required.
Perform quality assessments of technical manuals delivered to U.S. Navy ships.
Basic Qualifications
Technical experience with AN/SQQ-89A(V) ACB/APB sonar system equipment.
At least 6 years of experience working with the AN/SQQ-89(V) system in both Operations and Maintenance.
Excellent written communication and grammar skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Experience working directly with technical subject matter experts.
Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams.
U.S. Citizenship required.
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance required.
Preferred Qualifications
Thorough understanding of AN/SQQ-89(V) system operations and maintenance requirements.
Experience working with S1000D or a similar collaborative product data system.
Experience with:
System functional segments
Sonar tactical equipment
System LAN operation and administration
Fault Detection / Isolation / Localization
Remove and replace procedures
Experience supporting NAVSEA programs and their lifecycle support.
Ability to travel as required.
