Location:
New York, NYCondé Nast Traveler is looking for an Associate Commerce Editor to support affiliate-driven editorial content across the booking and retail categories. The Associate Commerce Editor will focus on optimizing and editing syndications from Traveler’s international editions, primarily those in the UK, Spain, Germany, Italy, the Middle East and India. They will work directly with CNT’s Commerce Director, a team of dedicated writers and editors, and a stable of freelancers, to edit stories on a daily basis. Core to this role is also an ongoing analysis of reader purchasing data and search trends to ensure we meet growth goals.
This role will also assist with general story edits and is welcome to pitch ideas for retail and/or booking stories to write as time allows. The ideal candidate has at least 2-3 years of experience as a full-time editor, a deep knowledge of the e-commerce landscape, and the agility to work across a variety of product categories—including travel goods, hotels, rentals, and beyond—with an eye for travel trends and sensitivities.

Responsibilities
Edit and optimize syndications for the following content: hotel roundups and reviews, rental roundups, and shopping guides
Assist with assigning and story editing sponsored editorial content
Coordinate with SEO managers and commerce resources to make sure all content is optimized for search
Work with CNT’s international markets to align coverage timing
Work with other stakeholders on CNT’s commerce team to achieve editorial excellence across platforms, including cntraveler.com, social, newsletter, and video, with a focus on voice, authority, and service
Coordinate with Traveler’s audience development team on content distribution and identify opportunities for growth based on data and industry trends
Additional duties as required, or as assigned by manager
Skills and Qualifications
3+ years experience editing in a digital media environment, with experience in service journalism required and travel preferred
Strong background working closely and collaboratively with editorial, advertising, engineering, video, and design teams
Familiarity with affiliate link programs preferred
Comfortability analyzing data
Strong organizational skills, self-directed work style, and polished communication skills
The ideal candidate will have a passion for travel and interest in current affairs
The expected base salary range for this position is from $70,500-$79,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.
In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates may also be eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation.
