Job Description:
The Director of Marketing, Content & Advertising leads all content creation and strategic advertising and public relations. Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, this Director leads a team of Marketing associates to deliver high-quality content, video, and communications. These marketing initiatives include developing the strategy and execution for advertising, public relations, media and sales enablement that advance BW Packaging’s commercial and brand objectives.
This role oversees all aspects of content marketing, strategic messaging, and impactful communications - enabling the team to produce compelling stories, integrated campaigns, and assets that are tightly aligned with BW Packaging’s business priorities. The Director partners closely with peer Directors of Marketing as well as the Product Marketing leaders to integrate strategies across all marketing and commercial channels.
The Director combines deep knowledge of media planning strategy, thought leadership development, trade publication navigation, advertising – traditional and digital, public relations, executive ghost writing, internal and external communications, video strategy and editing. This leader is responsible for understanding the customer through the lens of sales and leading the team to develop sales enablement content and distribute effectively across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of content, creative, and sales enablement professionals.
Foster a collaborative, high‑performance culture focused on creativity, quality, and business impact.
Ensure the team has the tools, processes, and skills needed to deliver exceptional results.
Establish clear roles, goals, and performance standards. Develop and grow team capabilities.
Creative & Content Leadership
Oversee creation of high-impact, market-relevant content including thought leadership, storytelling campaigns, case studies, video, photography, and digital assets.
Guide creative direction for all major campaigns, events, and product launches.
Ensure content is optimized for multiple formats, audiences, and geographies, working with regional teams for localization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work in close partnership with peers in EMEA Marketing, Brand & Experience, Demand Generation, and Product Marketing to ensure content and campaign execution are cohesive and mutually reinforcing.
Collaborate with Sales, Commercial Operations, and other functions to ensure marketing efforts support commercial objectives.
Serve as the point of contact for content requests.
Performance Monitoring & Process Improvement
Define KPIs for awareness, engagement, and content effectiveness; track and report results to senior leadership.
Continuously evaluate content performance and adjust strategies based on audience insights, campaign results, and market feedback.
Leverage analytics to demonstrate content marketing’s contribution to pipeline growth, customer loyalty, and market share.
Execution Oversight
Lead team execution of integrated marketing initiatives, including multi-channel campaigns, website updates, SEO improvements, social media activity, PR, and trade show communications.
Ensure deliverables align with brand guidelines, messaging frameworks, and campaign objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
10+ years of progressive marketing experience with significant content and advertising leadership responsibilities.
Proven success developing and executing global marketing strategies in B2B industrial, manufacturing, or automation sectors preferred.
Strong portfolio demonstrating brand storytelling, creative campaigns, and integrated marketing leadership.
Exceptional communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
Experience leading creative teams and collaborating with external agencies and partners.
Flexibility to take on evolving responsibilities in response to strategic priorities and business needs.
Skilled in building cross-functional partnerships and influencing without direct authority.
Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, matrixed, and international environment.
