Location:
New York, NYWIRED are seeking a Commerce Editor in Tech category to assign and edit stories for WIRED Reviews Shopping Vertical. You will work closely with the Senior Director to plan and execute shopping stories, stay on top of SEO best practices, and grow affiliate commerce revenue.
The right candidate is extremely organized and a thorough editor with a background in service journalism, affiliate commerce who can help writers channel the brand's voice for the direct audience.
Having a passion for technology and deep knowledge of hard tech required. You will be covering brands such as Apple, Dell, Lenovo, and Samsung.
Responsibilities:
Help to manage a long-term commerce editorial calendar for shopping content
Edit and publish commerce stories at a high cadence (10-15 stories/week across both brands)
Serve as a top editor and copy editor on commerce stories and newsletters
Serve as an affiliate expert for the digital teams, supporting in research and optimization of commerce content
Serve as a leader for editorial coverage around tentpole shopping holidays, including Amazon Prime Day, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday
Identify emerging trends and opportunities for affiliates in the WIRED space
Work with the Senior Commerce Director to achieve revenue goals on WIRED
Qualifications:
2-4 years experience as a digital editor, preferably with experience creating shopping content
Passion for technology is a must
An extremely detail-oriented editor who can focus on copy-writing, accuracy, and voice
An understanding of and interest in the affiliate industry and business model
Experience and familiarity with SEO best practices
Exceptional project management skills and organizational skills—must be able to consistently plan ahead while maintaining daily production of content
Polished communication skills
A self-starter who relishes the opportunity to accelerate the growth of Conde Nast’s commerce business
The expected base salary range for this position is from $80,000-$90,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.
In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates may also be eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation.
