Business Overview
The Director is responsible for leading Content Marketing. Under the general direction of VP Marketing, the Director is responsible for crafting the overall vision, strategy, and direction for the team and guiding the implementation of the marketing content strategy in B2B and B2C channels. Through the team, the Director is accountable for delivering the creation and distribution of marketing content across multiple platforms and formats to drive sales, acquisition of new business, increase investor and advisor engagement, and promote Fidelity’s brand, products, and services to both advisors and investors. This team is also responsible for the go-to-market plan and execution of all new product launch campaigns.
Key Accountabilities
Responsible for setting the vision, direction, and execution for content marketing
Provides strategic and creative leadership for content marketing from concept through execution and measurement.
Leads high-performing teams responsible for developing content across channels and formats to drive sales, financial advisor engagement, and brand impact.
Partners closely with Product and Sales leadership to align content strategy to business priorities.
Establishes clear goals and holds leaders accountable for results.
Drives innovation and focuses the team on the highest-value opportunities.
Builds and leads a high-performing team
Develops strong leaders and teams through coaching, feedback, and accountability.
Supports talent planning, succession, retention, and ongoing development.
Leads goal setting and performance management aligned to business strategy.
Fosters engagement and a culture consistent with Fidelity’s values.
Owns content marketing strategy, planning and budget
Develops long-term content marketing plans that translate business goals into actionable priorities.
Develop and execute content strategies for the B2B financial advisor-sold channel and B2C wealth management.
Anticipates future capability needs across people, content, and tools.
Builds strong business cases and secures alignment from senior leaders and partners for content marketing initiatives.
Acts as a key strategic partner and subject matter expert
Presents content strategy recommendations to senior executives and influences decision-making.
Builds stakeholder alignment on priorities and resource allocation.
Ensures the team remains focused on the most important initiatives.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Ability to think creatively and strategically by creating short- and long-term plans and leveraging team to execute.
Strong influencing and partnership skills across multiple stakeholders including senior executives.
Proven people leadership skills, and the ability to develop and leverage the capabilities of a high-performing team.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation, including copywriting and strong editorial mindset.
Project management, strong organizational skills and ability to quickly pivot and manage changing priorities.
Have a deep working knowledge of the financial services industry with a solid understanding of wealth management and personal finance. (registered account types, tax, estate planning, retirement)
FinTech content creation experience is an asset.
Education and Skills
University Degree ( Bachelor Degree ) or equivalent work experience.
7 years of experience in marketing or communications function.
5 years of experience leading 1 or 2 marketing functions and growing a high performing marketing team.
B2B and/or B2C marketing and communications experience, ideally in asset management, wealth management, or financial technology.
Campaign planning and strategy, including product launches and sales enablement.
Digital marketing experience.

Competitive Pay for Specialized Talent
This contract role offers a flexible, hourly compensation model that reflects your expertise and the value you bring. The hourly rate ranges from $72 - $98, based on experience and qualifications. We offer market-aligned rates that recognize the specialized skills and agility required for this role.
