Job Description:
The search landscape is changing at a rapid pace, and we are now looking for an SEO Director to lead the way into the next era, with a firm focus on growth and business value.
As an SEO Director with us, you will play a key role in our organic search team. You will be responsible for developing and commercializing our SEO services, with a specific focus on AI-driven search. You will work strategically with our most important and innovative clients, ensuring our strategies remain at the absolute cutting edge.
We are looking for a natural relationship builder who is driven by business development and passionate about elevating their colleagues. Together with our Head of SEO, you will refine our strategy and ensure we stay one step ahead. In an engaged and unpretentious manner, you will challenge existing processes and adapt our ways of working for the future of the search landscape.
Main Responsibilities:
- Product Development & AI-Driven Search: Drive the development of our SEO offering, adapt our strategies, and create new commercial business opportunities based on the ongoing AI revolution in search (AI Overviews, LLMs, etc.).
- Growth, Strategy, and Client Management: Responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive SEO strategies for our largest and most complex clients, with clear goals to drive business value and growth.
- Competence Development & Leadership: Take clear ownership of the SEO team’s professional development. You will lead, coach, and develop team members, serving as a natural sounding board in complex projects.
- Relationship Building: Manage and maintain strong, high-level client relationships. You are comfortable networking and acting as a senior advisor to our clients and other departments within our agency network.
- Business Responsibility: Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning. You will ensure client account profitability and contribute to sales efforts (pitches) and dialogues with new clients.
- Innovation & Best Practice: Work closely with the Head of SEO to set the standard for our SEO delivery, ensuring best practices and promoting innovation across all SEO activities.
Your Knowledge and Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in a senior SEO role, where experience from a digital agency, SEO agency, or consultancy is highly meritorious.
- Documented experience in successfully developing and executing SEO strategies for large and complex brands.
- Deep and broad knowledge of the entire SEO craft and a strong understanding of how AI is changing search behaviour and search engines.
- Experience in leading, coaching, and developing colleagues or teams.
- Accustomed to business development, budget responsibility, and participating in sales processes/pitches.
- High proficiency in industry-standard tools and platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, Semrush, Screaming Frog, etc.).
- Excellent communication skills in both speech and writing, in both Swedish and English.
Your Personality:
- You find it easy to build trust, both internally and with clients.
- You see opportunities in change (such as AI) and are driven by developing products and workflows.
- You enjoy sharing your knowledge and see the value in helping the team grow.
- You understand the link between SEO and the client’s business and possess a strong commercial drive.
- You can take a step back to look at the big picture but are ready to roll up your sleeves when needed, while remaining comfortable making strategic decisions
