To help us to build on the success of this journal, we’re seeking an editor with a critical eye, a deep understanding of their subject and interests beyond, and who can think on their feet. We are looking for a candidate with experience in the use of computational tools for public health; experience in infectious diseases is desired but we will also consider candidates with experience in non-communicable diseases.

Role responsibilities:   

• Handle original research manuscripts and work with the team on every aspect of the editorial process, including manuscript selection and overseeing peer review.  
• Commission and edit Reviews, Perspectives, Comments, and News & Views.
• Engage with the scientific community via travel to conferences and research institutions.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:   

Essential 

• A PhD in computational biology (or closely related) areas.
• A keen interest in research both within and beyond your specialty.  
• The ability to absorb and understand new areas of research.  
• Excellent literary skills.  
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.  

Desirable: 

• Postdoctoral experience is a plus but not essential.
• Editorial experience is not required, as full training is given, although applicants with significant editorial experience are encouraged to apply and will potentially be considered for the Senior Editor position.

This role can be in our Shanghai, Beijing, New Delhi and Pune offices (hybrid working available). Qualified internal candidates from other locations will also be considered. The position is offered on a full-time, permanent basis.
