Main Tasks
- Work and perform in compliance with company’s regulations and requests.
- Create, maintain, and update customer‑ and service‑related technical documentation for ZEISS IQS CMM, X‑ray, and Optical measurement systems, covering the full-service life cycle.
- Drive structured, standardized, and modular documentation concepts across product lines to ensure global consistency, clarity, and long‑term reusability.
- Translate complex technical topics (mechanics, electronics, software, calibration, safety) into precise, high‑quality, and service‑oriented documentation aligned with ZEISS quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with Global and Regional Service, 2nd‑Level Support, R&D, Product Management, Training, and Quality to collect, validate, and align technical content throughout the product life cycle.
- Analyze field feedback, escalations, and service cases and systematically convert them into structured troubleshooting procedures and service documentation.
- Support service readiness activities, product launches, and product changes by planning and delivering complete, accurate, and release‑ready documentation packages.
- Ensure documentation quality, traceability, and compliance with internal ZEISS documentation standards as well as relevant international norms and regulations.
- Maintain and further develop documentation within XML‑based authoring systems and modular documentation environments in line with ZEISS documentation strategy.
- Coordinate, review, and ensure quality and consistency of documentation delivered by external technical writers and service providers.
- Actively contribute to documentation digitization, content reuse, and continuous improvement initiatives, supporting ZEISS service excellence and operational efficiency.
- Perform duties in compliance with ZEISS policies, processes, and guidelines, and carry out other related responsibilities as assigned.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Technical Writing/Communication, Translation, Engineering or a comparable technical background.
- Exceptionally good English skills (written and spoken); German is an advantage; additional languages are a plus.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in technical editing or technical documentation within a machine, automation, metrology, industrial equipment, or high‑tech environment.
- Solid experience working with XML‑based authoring systems, ideally Schema ST4.
- Proven ability to understand and document service‑relevant processes, such as installation, calibration, acceptance, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
Other skills
- High communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross‑functional and international stakeholders.
- Basic understanding of industrial standards and calibration concepts (e.g. ISO 10360, VDI 2634).
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally when required.
