About the Role
Reporting to the Marketing and Brand Director, this is a newly created role sitting at the intersection of product and marketing. You'll be the first dedicated PMM at Zego, which means you'll shape the function from scratch rather than inherit it.
Your core job is to make Zego's products land. That means owning positioning and messaging across every customer-facing touchpoint, coordinating product launches, and being the person who ensures that what we build gets communicated in a way that drives real commercial results.
Zego offers multiple products serving different audiences- private hire, van, delivery, and private car. Each has its own competitive context, maturity level, and customer segment. You'll be the person who makes that portfolio feel simple, credible, and worth choosing.
Scope- This is an individual contributor role at senior level. You'll manage external relationships as needed, and work directly with the management team.
What You'll Be Doing
Value Proposition, Positioning and Product Messaging
- Develop and maintain positioning and messaging, Ideal customer profiles (ICP) frameworks across Zego's full product portfolio, private hire, van, delivery, and private car, that clearly differentiate us in the market
- Build and maintain a centralised messaging library- positioning statements, value propositions, ICPs, feature descriptions translated into customer benefits, and FAQs that every team can pull from
- Own all product messaging across customer-facing channels- website, app, CRM, ads, and help docs, ensuring it is accurate, consistent, and up to date
- Translate complex insurance products and features into language that is simple, compelling, and relevant to each customer segment
- Act as the final sign-off on product accuracy before any customer-facing content goes live
- Audit existing product content regularly to find gaps, inaccuracies, or inconsistencies and drive resolution across teams
- Define and test messaging through landing pages, ads, email, and in-product copy, iterating based on performance data
- Partner with Brand, Design, CRM, Performance Marketing, and SEO to make sure product messaging carries correctly across every channel and drives activation, engagement, and retention
- Run regular enablement sessions to keep all business functions sharp on product knowledge, messaging, and competitive positioning
Product Launches and Go-to-Market
- Own GTM planning and execution for new product launches- from positioning and audience definition through to channel strategy, launch materials, and post-launch measurement
- Define launch objectives, success metrics, target segments, and messaging hierarchy for each launch
- Coordinate cross-functional marketing launch workstreams, aligning Design, Performance Marketing, CRM, Comms, and Partnerships around shared timelines and deliverables
- Build scalable launch playbooks and templates that improve with every cycle
- Run post-launch reviews- what worked, what didn't, and what changes next time
- Bring market, customer, and competitive intelligence into growth forums, ensuring how we structure and present our products reflects what customers actually value
- Build enablement materials for internal teams that interact with customers and partners- customer support and partnerships management
- Develop materials for Zego's partners such a Price Comparison Websites
Market Intelligence and Customer Insights
- Feed market intelligence, customer insight, and competitive findings back into product and marketing roadmap cycles to actively influence what gets built and how it gets prioritised
- Build and maintain customer feedback loops to continuously test and improve messaging
- Analyse customer journey data to identify drop-off points and develop messaging strategies to improve conversion
- Monitor the competitive landscape and translate findings into clear recommendations on positioning, features, and pricing messaging
What Success Looks Like
In your first six months
- A complete messaging library is built, adopted, and live across all channels
- The first product launch playbook is shipped and used
- A process for messaging definition, testing and implementation is in place and trusted by channel owners
By the end of year one
- Measurable improvement in conversion metrics on ads and landing pages, driven by message testing
- Competitive positioning is documented, maintained, and actively used in decisions
- Partner enablement materials are in place for Zego's top relationships
What You'll Need to Be Successful
Experience
- 5+ years in product marketing roles for complex DTC products
- Background in Fintech, Insurtech, or another regulated, multi-product DTC environment strongly preferred
- Proven track record of translating complex or technical products into clear, compelling customer propositions and messaging that drive adoption
- Demonstrable ability to coordinate cross-functional product launches and hold multiple workstreams to account
Skills & Approach
- Exceptional written communication- you can articulate value propositions, product benefits and messaging, write a crisp one-pager or compelling landing page
- Strong commercial instinct- you understand how product marketing connects to revenue and can make the case for prioritisation decisions with data
- Comfortable with funnel analytics, customer research, and competitive analysis as tools to grow and use every day
- Strong stakeholder management skills- comfortable influencing across functions and the leadership team
- Self-starter who creates structure in complex environments and doesn't wait to be told what to do
- Active user of AI tools to build agents and workflows accelerating learning, execution and analysis
How We Work
We believe that teams work better when they have time to collaborate and space to get things done. We call it Zego Hybrid!
Our hybrid way of working is unique. We foster a flexible approach that empowers every Zegon to perform at their best. We ask you to spend at least one day a week in our central London office. Every team has the flexibility to choose the day that works best for them. We cover the costs for all company-wide events (3 per year), and also provide a separate hybrid contribution to help pay towards other travel costs. We think it's a good mix of collaborative face time and flexible home-working, setting us up to achieve the right balance between work and life.
