About the Role:
Wiley’s journal portfolio is looking for a dynamic and ambitious individual to join the team in the role of Editor-in-Chief. Job Responsibilities:
Leverage your network, subject expertise, understanding of research trends, and desk research skills to drive content acquisition and submission growth.
Strategically develop one or more journals from both scientific and publishing perspectives, with a focus on strengthening the journal’s position within its broader portfolio and research community.
Support the journal’s expansion into relevant growth areas while maintaining strength across its existing core scope.
Establish and maintain a strong network of scientists, including authors, peer reviewers, editorial board members, and wider community stakeholders.
Represent Wiley and the journal portfolio at conferences and through in-person and virtual outreach activities at universities, research institutes, and relevant scientific communities.
Contribute to the editorial evaluation, peer review, and decision-making process for submitted manuscripts.
Identify opportunities to attract high-quality submissions, develop commissioning strategies, and build visibility for the journal within relevant research communities.
Collaborate with your manager and colleagues to establish a team culture of trust, respect, collaboration, and high performance.
What we are looking for
Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a flexible and innovative approach to problems and a focus on defining and achieving outcomes.
Ability to work in a collaborative setting and achieve results through personal influence and engagement.
A self-motivated, diplomatic, and flexible approach with outstanding organizational and time management skills and an excellent command of the English language (both written and verbal).
A strong understanding of scientific publishing, including commissioning and the peer-review process. Prior experience in the publishing industry is highly desired.
A keen interest in science communication and strong desire to advocate for innovations in publishing and open research.
